Title: Hubert Schanne appointed CEO of PacketFront

Hubert Schanne takes over as the new CEO of PacketFront, a leading supplier of tailor-made FTTH solutions, succeeding Niclas Sonesson who takes up his former post as CTO of the company.

Hubert Schanne, 42, has many years of international experience in the telecom industry.  He has most recently been in charge of Europe, Middle East and Africa for ADC Telecommunications where he had profit and loss responsibility. Prior to this Mr. Schanne held a variety of business development, customer service and sales leadership roles at Nortel.  A native Canadian, he has lived in Canada, the UK, Germany and Austria in the course of his career and has worked across EMEA and in Asia as well.

"PacketFront is well known in the FTTH space and I am very pleased to be joining the company.  I am looking forward to expanding PacketFront's marketshare in the utilities sector and also taking advantage of the opportunities which exists with CLEC’s and incumbent carriers," says Mr Schanne.

PacketFront's chairman Hans Blomberg said, "Hubert is the ideal candidate for the job.  He already has excellent relationships with many of our customers and prospects around the world, and he is well-versed in all important areas – technology, customer service and sales."

PacketFront is a market leader in FTTH (Fibre to the Home) deployments.  In 2008, PacketFront began development work to provide GPON solutions in addition to active Ethernet solutions.

"This work is proceeding according to plan and we'll be ready to launch several new products at the FTTH Council in Denmark during the second week of February," says Schanne.
