Title: PacketFront enhances luxury living in California condos with Fiber-To-The-Home technology

PacketFront, the pioneer in open-access broadband networking, has announced that Digital Streets, a Californian services company which provides enhanced television, telephone, Internet and community portal services over state-of-the-art networks to residential communities, has deployed a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network, using PacketFront technology and expertise. The network spans the prominent Plaza Irvine project in Southern California, which encompasses two 15 story high-rise towers of ultimate luxurious living, and gives residents complete triple-play services with scope to open up the network in the near future. The triple play services will be provided and maintained by Digital Streets.

The Plaza Irvine project aims to give residents a unique style of living, offering the ultimate in quality services and style. PacketFront's network supports this goal by enabling the delivery of advanced television, telephone, Internet and interactive IP services to everyone in the complex. The network is expected to be expanded and opened up in the future to multiple competing service providers, enhancing consumer choice.

The key component in PacketFront's broadband solution is the award-winning BECS control and provisioning system. BECS makes it possible for operators to build and run fully automated broadband networks with self-provisioning capabilities. These capabilities give users the option to choose services for themselves without having to wait for a third party to make the changes.

"Working with PacketFront has enabled a swift and painless network build, and now that it's fully up and running, we're particularly impressed by the sheer simplicity of the BECS provisioning system," said Scott Musgrave, CEO of Digital Streets. "PacketFront's technology is a key component in Digital Streets' overall goal of installing state-of-the-art networks throughout communities in the Western U.S., allowing us to provide enhanced triple play services and more to our customer base. As part of our growth strategy, we intend to go open-access in the near future, giving our customers even more choices. We will be counting on the proven experience and expertise of PacketFront to achieve this."

"We're very pleased that Digital Streets chose to work with us on this innovative project and look forward to working with the company more in the future," said Tim Scott, Director of Sales & Marketing, PacketFront. "The state-of-the-art Plaza Irvine towers are at the forefront of modern living and we are delighted that our network is a component of the ultimate lifestyle that the apartments aim to provide. There is no doubt that FTTH technology is becoming more and more desirable, and this project is a key indication of this."
