Date: 16th April 2007 Title: Karl Thedéen joins Transmode from Ericsson as new CEO Transmode, a leading provider of Multi-Reach Optical Networking Solutions, today announced that Karl Thedéen, most recently Vice President - Head of Product Area Wireline at Ericsson, has joined Transmode as Chief Executive Officer. Karl, 43, takes over from Rune Hurtig, Chairman of the Transmode Board of Directors and since August 2005 acting CEO at Transmode. Rune will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board which he has held since 2000. "Transmode is currently undergoing a rapid period expansion and has grown to become a leading player within the Metro and Regional WDM market," said Rune Hurtig, Chairman and the outgoing acting CEO. "Karl brings the expertise and vision to guide Transmode forward in the next phase of the company's expansion combined with strong executive and personal qualities. I welcome Karl to the team and I am confident that under his leadership Transmode will continue to prosper." Karl was previously Vice President – Head of Product Area Wireline at Ericsson. In this role Karl had responsibility for wireline products and new product introduction. In addition the role included managing relationships with major external partners and Karl also took a leading role in Ericsson's recent acquisitions, including leading the bid team on the Entrisphere acquisition. Prior to this role, Karl has held a number of senior management roles in both sales and product management and also undertook a period in the Swedish Naval Reserve.
