Transmode, the Optical Networking Pioneer, announced today that Infonetics and Ovum-RHK have both placed Transmode as a leading supplier of metro WDM solutions in the EMEA region.

The recently published results from Infonetics and Ovum-RHK for the first Quarter of 2006 provide a breakdown of the Metro WDM market for the EMEA region and provide market share data for all key vendors, with Transmode achieving number 2 position according to Infonetics and number 3 according to Ovum-RHK.

"Transmode has carved out a place for itself in the metro WDM market, and for CWDM in particular, based on having a well thought out, cost effective solution scalable from metro access to core", said Dave Dunphy, Research Director, Network Infrastructure at Ovum-RHK. "Transmode continues to expand its market position in EMEA despite the strongly competitive environment there, proving not only that there is still room for start ups, but also that EMEA-based companies can successfully compete in the face of cost competition from out of region."

"This is a nice jump in revenue and market share by Transmode," said Michael Howard, Principal Analyst and Co-Founder at Infonetics Research. "We have tracked Transmode's progress for some time, and this increase indicates that Transmode is gaining traction in the competitive metro WDM segment. The Optical Hardware market shows good, stable growth over the next few years and Transmode is in a good position to take advantage of this trend."

"We are immensely pleased with this result," said Rune Hurtig, Transmode's Chief Executive Officer. "This represents a significant and sustainable step change in our quarterly run rate over our already impressive 2005 results. Our visibility for the remainder of 2006 gives us great confidence that we can expect to hold or even improve upon this market position."

"Transmode's business growth is driven by the increased demand for residential broadband and triple-play services, the migration to Ethernet based services for business customers and increased deployment of Storage Area Networking solutions," said Johan Lindskog, Transmode's Vice President of Global Sales. "Through a focus on our core technical competencies and world class customer services we believe we are ideally positioned to continue to take market share in this growing market."
