Title: PacketFront announces shipment of its 150,000th FTTH port

PacketFront, the world leader in open access Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH) technology and next generation broadband aggregation, has announced reaching an important milestone in the company's development with the shipment of its 150,000th FTTH port. The port has been shipped to Dubai Internet City (DIC), as part of a project to bring triple-play services to the fast growing residential areas in Dubai.

This announcement caps an impressive 2005 for the Swedish-based company after a series of important customer wins and deployments across the globe. Most notably, PacketFront is responsible for the world's most advanced open access network, Mälarenergi Stadsnät in Västerås, Sweden. This network won a prestigious award in 2005 for offering 60 unique IP services - including community broadcasting and video calling - from more than 20 different service providers, and cements PacketFront's position as a market leader and visionary in the triple-play space.

PacketFront has also been the power behind some of the world's most advanced and demanding triple-play networks. For instance, for DIC, PacketFront facilitates the deployment of an impressive 150 IPTV channels, while a recent deployment in Ireland for Magnet Networks involved the delivery of 100 IPTV channels over PacketFront's broadband network. In 2005, the company also opened two new regional offices in Amsterdam and Seoul.

"We are very excited about the shipment of our 150,000th FTTH port," commented Martin Thunman, CEO of PacketFront. "Reaching this milestone is a huge achievement, a great indicator of our growth up to this point, and a ringing endorsement of BECS, our unique, purpose-built control and provisioning system. We are already looking forward to continued success and further expansion in the future, and thank our customers, partners and staff, all of whom have helped us to achieve this goal."

Thunman continued, "As operators around the world start to roll out VoIP and IPTV services on a mass scale, there will be an increased demand for the type of advanced automation and control features that only PacketFront can offer - this is a huge opportunity for us. Our aim is to continue to provide a consistently high quality and innovation in our broadband offering , and to promote true freedom of choice in triple play through such innovations as open access networks and customer self-provisioning of services."
