Title: Transmode nominated for Swedish IT Company of the Year award
Sweden's
most prestigious honour in the world of Information Technology
Transmode, formed by the merger of Transmode Systems and Lumentis in March
this year, is one of three companies nominated for the Swedish "Guldmusen"
award in the category "Swedish IT Company of the Year". Previous
winners include MySQL and the inventor of Skype, Niklas Zennström
Guldmusen (the Golden Mouse) is awarded to those Swedish entrepreneurs,
developers, users and others who have made greatest contributions to advance
and promote IT. Among the supporting organizations behind the award is
The Swedish Trade council and leading business and IT publications such
as Affärsvärlden and Computer Sweden.
"Guldmusen is Sweden's premiere recognition for excellence within
Information Technology. Being one of the nominees is a great honour for
us. We have always been very focused on technology and services that are
outstanding in the field of optical networking, and hopefully we can go
all the way in September and come out as the winner", said Transmode's
CEO, Isaac Olasoko.
The prize is awarded in four different categories: Swedish IT Promoter
of the Year, Swedish IT Product of the Year, Swedish IT Profile of the
Year and Swedish IT Company of the Year. The ninth annual Guldmusen
Awards will be presented on September 2005, at the Guldmus Gala at Stockholm
City Hall, during ICT-week.
Transmode's
business success in Europe and globally has already earned the company
recognition from the investment community. In May 2005, the company was
awarded Red Herring's 100 Europe Award, listing the most promising and
innovative European high-tech companies.
