Title: CMC Biopharmaceuticals A/S and Resistentia AB announce a development
and manufacturing agreement
Copenhagen,
Denmark; 15 September, 2004 - CMC Biopharmaceuticals A/S (CMC), a Copenhagen-based
contract manufacturing organization, and Resistentia Pharmaceuticals AB,
a drug development company based in Uppsala, Sweden today announced that
they have entered into a development and manufacturing agreement for the
cGMP production of a fusion protein. The product, an immunotherapeutic
reagent used for the treatment of IgE-mediated allergies, will be manufactured
at CMC's facility in Copenhagen.
Mads Laustsen, CMC's CEO, says "This agreement demonstrates the flexibility
of CMC's new multiproduct facility which provides services from early
development to commercial cGMP compliant manufacture. CMC is already manufacturing
cGMP clinical trial material batches for several companies and Resistentia's
project fits well into our pipeline"
Commenting on the agreement, Marcus Bosson, CEO of Resistentia Pharmaceuticals
AB, said: "CMC has both the competence and the flexibility to enable us
to fulfil our research goals in this area. Through our partnership with
CMC, we will be able to carry out clinical trials of the immunotherapeutic
reagent on patients next year."
