Title: Transmode Achieves NEBS Level 3

Transmode Systems AB, a leading supplier of transmission equipment for fibre optic networks, announced today that its CWDM equipment, System 1100, has successfully completed NEBS level 3 compliance testing.

The Network Equipment Building Standards (NEBS) Level 3 certificate, issued by Telcordia Technologies, is one that many service providers and carriers require from their equipment suppliers. Achieving this certification has further strengthened Transmode's position within the US carrier marketplace.

Furthermore, the NEBS Level 3 certificate underpins Transmode's reputation for reliability and robustness. NEBS Level 3 is the most stringent certification level and provides the highest assurance of product operability. To achieve the certification, the CWDM equipment has gone through rigorous testing, including thermal shock, earthquake vibration, temperature variations and electrostatic discharge. The testing was performed by ETL Semko in Lexington, Kentucky and in Stockholm.

"Achieving this certification once again proves that our design meets all applicable standards. Our installed base of (UL and CE certified) CWDM equipment in Europe and the US has provided us with field data indicating high reliability", says Johan Sandell, VP R&D at Transmode. "The NEBS Level 3 certificate is testament to a very solid product design."
