Title: Backers put further funding into Whatsonwhen

Content provider Whatsonwhen have secured new funding from their investors.

Whatsonwhen's funding comes from its current investors European Equity Partners and Telsun. "They have agreed to fund us through to breakeven in August, but we may well be profitable before that", said Emily Spencer, CEO of Whatsonwhen.

She also revealed that Whatsonwhen had signed its first deal in Europe with German listings site Events Today. The agreement will see Whatsonwhen supplying the German site with content but Spencer confirmed Whatsonwhen is seeking European partnership for content provision to Whatsonwhen. "We are trying to find good strategic local content provides in Europe. We are identifying other companies in Europe that we can work with,"she said.

Whatsonwhen has also signed deals with Thomascook.com and Lonely Planet to supply its content to the travel sites. The content for Lonely Planet will feature on the travel site's CitySync guides, which download to Palms.

"It's great for us to have such a leading travel brand come to us for content," Spencer said.
